Difficulty in adding extensions.

So I just got my site up and running and I have put together an excel spreadsheet with the extensions I would like to add. Now I realize it totally depends on the extension but is adding an extension similar to adding a plugin on wordpress? I have some experience putting plugins on my wordpress blog and the more I can do the better so I won't have to pay someone to do it.

If you have the time I have put the extensions below I intend to add and you could tell me how difficult or easy that extension was to add would be really helpful.

As I said anyone who can answer the above questions that would be greatly appreciated. I don't expect too many people to want to rate difficulty in installing an extension but if you can thank you in advance.

No: it's fairly easy, but you need to be a bit more 'hands-on' with Opencart.

A mod folder usually consists of an admin and catalog folder, which contain the folders/files for the mod. You are meant to upload the mod admin and catalog folders on top of your OC admin and catalog folders, via FTP.

Check the readme files included with the mod for full instructions. Some overwrite core files: so if you have several mods, you might need to manually merge the mods into the core files. Some also need minor alterations to other files.

Take a backup before uploading a mod.

After uploading the mod, you install it in the admin panel (Extensions) then configure it, similar to WP.

- Re the difficulty of installing particular extensions: they are all the same in that they will have the admin and catalog folder - but some overwrite core files, as stated above. It's best to do one mod at a time, check the readmes, and keep backing up as you go.
