Hello,

I was curious if anyone has seen or heard of a shipping module that will tell the customer to call for shipping information?

The other option is we will call the customer when there order has been placed to let them know the shipping information.

Does anyone know of an extension that exists that can do this?

Thank You

You could use the Free Shipping method, and retitle it to "Please call us for shipping information once your order is complete".

I want to do the same as the author. Quotes will be sent for each invidual order.
How Can I retitle the free shipping method?
I just want to add a field that displays: "Shipping will be quoted for approval after you place your order"

Thank you very much, Jonathan! I've been trying to figure it out for a couple of days!

Can you please also advise how to display this Shipping quote filed in the cart and/or on the individual product page, not in the end of checkout. The idea is that the customer knows that he will receive shipping quote before having to register on my website. I will not have other shipping options at this time.

You can edit the actual text on the page by editing these two files:

/catalog/view/theme/YOURTHEME/template/checkout/cart.tpl
/catalog/view/theme/YOURTHEME/template/product/product.tpl

You could just insert the text you want to there, so people know what your shipping policy is ahead of time.

Thank you, Jonathan. I struggled a few days with this and to my surprise..

something is terribly wrong with my template. In MYTHEME - template folder there are only three subfolders: Common; Information and Module.
All other folders that can be seen in default template are missing, inlcluding Chechout and Product...

Why are all of these folders missing? Should I have copied the default theme and then install my new theme over it? I just copied the New template folder.

P.S. I am using default4free template with OpenCart 1.4.9.1

No, no -- that means your theme is created completely correctly. OpenCart uses a default fallback system where it will load the default template file if your custom template file doesn't exist. This means that the theme is easier to maintain, and has less chance for coding errors. (Most themes are made improperly, copying all of the default theme files, which is completely unnecessary.)

The best thing to do would be to create the folder and copy over the default file to your theme -- for example, copy:

/catalog/view/theme/default/template/checkout/cart.tpl

to:

/catalog/view/theme/YOURTHEME/template/checkout/cart.tpl

If you don't want to do that, you could edit the default template file, but I don't recommend doing that. Your modifications will get overwritten whenever you upgrade OpenCart, which means you'll have to do it over and over again.
