I want to create a store using a language I am not familiar with (such as swedish) but I want to keep the admin panel in my language, therefore I want to force the language of the front store to this unfamiliar language despite the language of the browser or the IP visitor address. If I set the admin language to mine I have the admin panel in my language and it's ok BUT if I disable my language for the store side it only disables the menu for languages and if I browse the front store it turns my language on and not "swedish" because I think it depends on the language of my browser or maybe my IP address. Only if a "swedish" friend of mine browses the store the "swedish" language appears.

Add &language=xx to the url

Examples

Code: Select all

http://mysite.com/shop/index.php?language=de
http://mysite.com/shop/index.php?route=common/home&language=de

That is if you put up a link somewhere.

What we are looking for is to have the language already loaded when someone visits domain.co or domain.nl
This so that each different top-level opens just one language and ignores others that are available.

Then you need to do that at the .htaccess
I am not good with htaccess redirects but perhaps others have the code for that.
Basically change the link for .co to add &language=en on the end and .nl to add &language=nl on the end
