Hi,

You have to turn on the SEO friendly URLs:

Admin -> Settings -> Server -> Use SEO URL's -> YES

Then with your FTP manager locate "htaccess.txt" in the root folder and rename it to ".htaccess"

Hope that helps!

Hi voodoo,

It would be nice if there was a generateManufacturers() as well.

It is an easy addition but I don't want to fork your extension.

Hi mystifier,

What for? To have the manufacturer in the url?

I'm thinking of a templating system, say for example you define %manufacturer-%productname-%model and it will do the URL accordingly. So people that want this or that or in this or that particular order could do what they like.

What do you think?

I think http://domain.com/manufacturer is higher value than http://domain.com/index.php?route=produ ... urer_id=17 for Manufacturers.

I have a (spare parts) site where Manufacturer is going to be at least as important as Category. Generally though,'Manufacturers' is not going to be the actual usage; it is simply a new way of categorizing products (on my school uniforms website for example, it is 'type of clothing' which needs to have a good SEO score).
