It is all in Daniels hands at the moment. After he is finished with it, there are quite a few bug fixes from 1.4.9.1+ that need to be added still, but that should be pretty quick, a day or two tops. So hopefully daniel gets it done by the 26th.. then we have 2 days to patch and fixes from 1.4.9.1 to 1.4.9.4nickt15 wrote:ha haI knew you were going to say that !!!!
Really any idea ?
Thanks, did you guys ever consider doing this for shipping, I am new to opencart but what I see for shipping you can have real time shipping rates, free shipping & flat rate shipping, but they only work by themselves, can you get all 3 to work together ?
I sell all kinds of stuff, but sometimes, I need all 3 shipping methods to work at the same time cause of the different types of products I sell & individual flat rate shipping. Plus estimated shipping before the customer creates an account.
Have you worked on this or can you ever add these features in the future ?

Thanks Daniel for confirming Feb release date, can keep my client off my back now!
Everyone who's moaning about new features should be requesting them in the feature Requests forum space. It's not your job to prioritise. Likewise if we keep asking to delay updates to add more features not only will users start going elsewhere but we'll end up with a pile of buggy crap that has had heavy modifications with no iterative testing from continued use. A redesign is fine but we can't keep building on something that remains untested, it's good to take stock of what we have at times and 'polish our gem' before continuing.

whoo-hoo, that all sounds great! And I really like the idea of a printable copy of the order.Qphoria wrote:..
5. Success Page:
In addition to the success message, the success page will have a full (printable) invoice of the order, possibly with some area for custom payment details (some countries require you to show the payment transaction id from the gateway). I originally thought about having the password fields here for optional account create, but I think it is better to just leave them on the login/create page as optional fields
That's a solid 4 step checkout for both reg and guest, with enhanced success page. That should work without changing any existing extensions and be worldwide compatible....
It's true about the current 'create account' checkout - the success page returns you to the basket. I re-worded the page so people knew what to expect, but a re-organisation would not hurt.
Thanks so much for all the hard work. It is much appreciated.
I can't wait 2 more days!!!
I'm most excited about the ability to add new customer fields in the registration process! I'm building a store with the ability for people to register for a conference. It's going to be great that now I can ask them things like: do you need childcare Y/N, interpretation Y/N, birth date, etc!
AWESOME! Think we can get a pre-release of the pre-release?

If the new version will coming out soon, and it will not be easy to upgrade the products from 1.4.9, can we have Import/Export for Excel module in the core? like the one JNeuhoff made? It will be great help for load bulks items.Qphoria wrote:It is all in Daniels hands at the moment. I know nothing about PHP and SQL, but I still try my best to understand it.
besides if you put anything in the core I think it should be csv based not xls based, but that's all future talk anyways.

As soon as the new Opencart release is available I'll upgrade the Export/Import tool to support it. There will be some changes, such as the addition of the new product attributes.Qphoria wrote:Nope. and import/export will need to be modified to support the new options anyway.

In fact, it shouldn't be future talk... csv should have already been yesterday talk....
That... and a properly logical way to place pre-order items (not with the default scheme of "oh... if the available date is a future date, an item won't be listed at all because if it's not in stock, a customer can't/shouldn't see it"...)
These things put me off from most cart solutions, Opencart as well, so far.
I understand that coding your way to your needs is possible, but for those who are actually running a small business like me and need certain basic core features to be there out of the box... these are a must.
Have I tried PS? Yes. Did it go live? No. Hate their "business model", plus OC's MVC logic makes more sense. BUT... I'm looking forward to 1.5.0's improvements. Too bad can't log into admin demo account, but hopefully... we'll have something to play with this weekend...
Interesting way to segue.... the pre-order is a pretty simple change. we'll look into adding an option for future dates to be hidden or viewableNakano wrote: In fact, it shouldn't be future talk... csv should have already been yesterday talk....
