Hi All

I have a florist customer of mine who does her own deliveries and she charges delivery based on distance from her home address. eg. Under 20ks free delivery, 20-30ks $10.00, etc etc

Is there a way I can do this with the existing shipping mods? I am more than happy to pay for a shipping mod to do this. The difficulty as I see it, is that I would need to populate a sql table with the postcodes and the distance from the home base. That in itself is an easy thing, however, how to reference that and use that to work out shipping calculations based on it, is somewhat beyond my megre programming skills.

I would be grateful for any advice in this matter.

Create a few geozones
Enable the Weight Based shipping
set the rates for each zone:

ZoneA: 9999999:10.00
ZoneB: 9999999:12.00
ZoneC: 9999999:15.00

Now you have multizone flat rates

Hmmmm ok I can see that this might work - however, there are over 550 postcodes within Perth australia! Doing it this way (and I am still not sure I understand the geo zones bit - despite having read http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=7099 ) I would need to add 550 geo zones - all labled by postcode?

Or would I set up 3 zones - eg free shipping (under 20ks), $10.00 - 20 to 30ks, $15.00 30 to 40ks. If I do it that way, how do I set it up so that the relevent postcode is picked up in each zone?

Or am I missing something here??

HELP! :)

Q's Zone Plus Module might work since Australian postcodes are only numerals.

It works with letters too.. even if postcodes were wingdings it would work ;) . It's just partial string comparing the entered postcodes and the customer postcode
