Thank you for the quick response. We are using the improved version and i have checked with the hosting and we have no issues from there end. The same server hosts another ecommerce site and their Google Base feed is working perfectly well, we are using the improved version.

When we first added the feature the feed worked fine but was not uploading all products. We then checked the feed and removed all the invalid characters from teh products description and names, since then it has not been working.

I hope this information give more of an insight to the problem?

Not sure why you say it's stopped altogether. The feed is working just fine, the problem is that you have special characters that need removing from all product titles and descriptions. For example this one
http://www.products999.com/index.php?ro ... uct_id=446
There are special characters in the description which are causing the issue. You can check your feed by loading it in IE8. It will tell you which line is giving the error if you click on more information

I have fixed all issues regarding special characters in the feed. The upload is scheduled for midnight everyday, so i hope it works. Is there anyway i can ask the system to try the upload now?

Either change the scheduled time or save the feed content and upload it manually

I copy and pasted the content from the feed into notepad and saved it as feed.txt. When i did a manuel upload, i recieved an email saying that o products were inserted and to find out more to log in. I then find out that the feed was disapproved.

Anything that you can suggest?

If you've been disapproved that ususally means you're selling something google doesn't like. You'll need to find out what and remove it from your store

Hi, I have installed Google Base Improved and get the following errors from Google

Feed-Level Messages
Error: XML formatting error - Error

Our system encountered an error when processing your data feed.
Learn more.
Examples: Examples:
Line No. Column No.
29 65

Not sure what that means ???

This has happened the first time I tried it.
Thanks :)

Did you set the feed format to auto/XML? this usually happens when people set it to CSV/TXT

I didn't set anything as far as I know - is that in Google or OpenCart the setting to change? Sorry to be dim :-[
Google also said "Your data is good" so that's ok.

Right I get it now. It doesn't offer the option - you have to look for it. If anyone else reading this is as slow as me it's the 'Edit' link next to the name of your file. :-[

I've set it to upload on the next hour so hopefully all will be well

Thank you for this mod and especially for your super-speedy response to requests for help ;D

Hi again,

I tried again but still get this error:
0 of 1 items inserted - Processed on 29-Jan-2011 17:08 GMT
Destinations: Product Ads, Product Search

Total File Size: 273.31 KB
Detected file format: XML
Feed-Level Messages
Error: XML formatting error - Error

Our system encountered an error when processing your data feed.
Learn more.
Examples: Examples:
Line No. Column No.
29 65

Any other ideas? Is it something wrong in line 29 & column 65? And if so how could I fix that?
Thanks :)

Hi,

Can you please check www.wignwigs.com, we have installed Google Base Improved. The link is not working, when you put the url into a browser it just say page cannot be displayed. We have checked the code and everything seems to be fine.

Thanks

Ajay
