Hi folks

Are YOU a friendly, "get on with it" OpenCart guru who might want to help a small business get to grips with OpenCart on a paid for basis? If so .. I might have some work for you .. Please keep reading ...

My name is James and I have a small business with my missus based in Cumbria selling sculpture and statues online. Our existing sites were done 8 years ago in ColdFusion and haven't really been touched since. They've served us well, but, they look rough now - the user experience isn't good, conversions are poor etc. They need sorting now.

I have about 5 small "minisites" selling specific ranges each with only about 100 items on them and a larger site with about 1,500 items on it. I want to redesign and replace all those sites with OpenCart driven ones. I have a decent understanding of SEO and know where I want to go with them .. just need help getting there ...

I have a tecchy background from a long time ago, but am no programmer and not up to date with PHP and MySQL and I have an excellent web designer, who is superb with CSS and *design* - but he is no 'programmer' either. Neither of us have the time right now to get to grips with any technical problems we might hit or with any custom development we might need with OpenCart and that's what I am looking for support with.

Hopefully we'll learn some stuff on the way but I am more interested in getting the sites doing what I need them to do, rather that getting up to speed with the stuff you lot do all day. So...

I am looking for someone to support us, do custom development where it's required, help us get over to OpenCart and help us get these sites together on a paid for basis. I need someone to help us get the most of of OpenCart.

I can pay, but not high rates - what I can guarantee is that we're easy to get on with, you'll get paid promptly and if we get on there is a likelyhood of years worth of work with us on and off. We're good people to know. Honest guv!

So - are you a developer who has gone through the mill already with OpenCart, do you know it intimately? Php/MySQL whizz? Please drop me a line j#a#m#e#s#@#s#k#y#d#i#v#e#r#.#c#o#.#u#k

Regards

James

Oh I should add some of the kind of stuff we're looking to do

- We have orders from international clients where we have to work out the postage on an individual basis - I need helping making that process smooth for our clients and us to manage. I've noticed that work was being done on a module to help with that .. but something to discuss ...

- Would like to move towards a 1 x page check-out and give customers the options just to "buy this now asap" without having to go through an "add to cart" process. Most of our orders are 1 product orders.

- Creation of a "send us money" page so a customer can go to a page, enter in free selection of how much money they want to send us and what it is fore - and for that somehow to go in to the order system.

- In an ideal world we'd have all the minisites powered by the single database driving our main site .. i.e. use the multistore functionality in some way .. BUT .. each of the minisites will have to be at our own domain and I'm not sure of the best way to do that. To start with I am happy just to get the minisites together and get them done ASAP.

- On the big site, I need help getting my existing data across in to OpenCart, we can export the data, get it in to CSV - use the CSV import module I've seen, but guidance and help with that would be good, in fact it would just be good to hand that over to someone else.

- Each OpenCart site will have a Wordpress Blog hanging off the back off it, not bothered about tight integration, we'll make them look okay together with design/css/styling. This isn't really a big development issue, but I just thought I'd mention it to give you some idea of what we're planning.

- Also I need help with version risk mitigation .. I've caught wind that a version 1.5 is coming, I know if stuff aint broke don't fix it - but going forward if there is a good reason to get to a newer versin of the software I need someone who can help us do that.

The more I think about this, the more I think what I need is someone to help us get the basic stores together and let us worry about theme/skinning it. Cheers. All typos courtesy of not having had a cup of tea yet.
