HTACCESS rename before SEO enable

Hello to all,

I'm new to Opencart, I just wanted to ask, what will happen if I rename my .htaccess.txt file to .htaccess without enable SEO setting yo "Yes"?

Will that do any harm? I do not want my user to rename the file when use SEO, so I was thinking to rename it first. Can I do that?

Please advice, thank you.
