Does open cart have ANY way to export orders, say to a .csv or something? I can't seem to find anything. I know it is meant to be a basic cart, but how does everyone get their orders in to their accounting system for business purposes?
This is a good idea IMO, and has been discussed tentatively elsewhere. So I'm adding my support.clips wrote:Does open cart have ANY way to export orders, say to a .csv or something? I can't seem to find anything.
I don't know of an extension which exports order info except for this Quickbooks only one:

If order and customer info data was easily exportable, extension builders could tailor make mods for different accounting systems. This would be ideal.
We currently use SCA from WriteItOnce.com and I did hear back from their support team that they have developed a way to import orders in to their software, which in turn allows you to import your orders in to a program like Quickbooks. Basically you would just select to "print" the orders you want to bring in to Quickbooks and then their software will pull the customer information from the browser and then you can export it to QBs.
I still feel that at the very least any software should have a way to import/export various information...including order info. I am going to try the mod to import/export the product, but I'm surprised it doesn't have this yet. I do believe Open Cart has some nice features, but it is also somewhat primitive on other features.

I would like to have this as well. How is everyone keeping track of their accounting records currently using OpenCart, by manually imputing customers and orders into an accounting system? This seems like a must-have priority to me.
It is good to know there is a Quickbooks option, unfortunate there is not one for an open source accounting/ERP system.

A difficult one to get included in the core as I can think of numerous packages out there so which one gets included? I agree that a csv would be the best option.
I started with OC at 1.4 and built a custom access application which manages my stock, invoices, sales reports/charts/graphs etc as well as staff issues/diaries etc and this works well for me. (In fact it allows me to do more than I could manage with QB and is a complete back office solution for me.)
I can also export from access to excel for spreadsheet data manipulation etc.
Thought i'd just drop it in there in case people have access and had not thought of it as a possibility.

I have thought about access but I think I still don't have the knowledge for building an application in access

We provide a service that allows you to automatically import OpenCart orders into QuickBooks Pro/Premier/Enterprise or QuickBooks Online.
We're looking into supporting Xero in the near future. If there's anyone out there using Xero who is interested, we'd love to talk with you and see if you could help us do a bit of testing.

A couple of solutions listed above. Maybe worth having a look at one of those.
