This is my first contribution to OpenCart. Felt I needed to give something back to the community after all the support and tips I've had over the last 9 months. The inspiration for this came from NoWhinJing's Featured/Special Offer/Latest Products contrib. It's certainly given me greater insight into SQL queries & php!
The module, as supplied, will provide a box in the left column where you can have your best selling products listed in order of quantity sold. The number displayed can be configured in admin. All files are new to OpenCart - nothing to overwrite, although edits will need to be made to a couple of template files to position and style the module. An alternative to the default layout.tpl is supplied + basic code to add to default.css. See the readme.txt in the archive for full details.
There's lots of scope for styling and customising this further, e.g. to just display the top selling product with thumbnail, name, price, hyperlink. We're using it in that format on www.opencarttemplates.com/store
I do encourage those who use it in different ways to share their implementation in this thread, offer feedback on their experience and share any improvements made on my first attempt. Providing there are no big issues I will subsequently add it to the main contrib area off the OpenCart homepage.

*** EDIT 18 August : Corrected minor typo in readme.txt
