Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

For the ones that I know:
Feliz Navidad!

Fröhliche Weihnachten!

Gelukkig Kerstfeest!
Joyeux Noël!
חג מולד שמח!
کریسمس مبارک !

Working as a graphic designer for government, I always have to pay special attention to demographics which means I always use 'Season's greetings' in place of 'Merry Christmas' since a significant proportion of people aren't Christian. And, being an Atheist, it also helps me avoid feeling like a hypocrite.

Just something to bear in mind if you're changing your store next year :)

I always find the cheesiest Santa cards for my Jewish friends.
Yes, they know I do this on purpose!

You know, screw the PC crap.
If you can't say "Merry Christmas" then I think that ALL holidays no matter religion or nationality should be banned.
Screw Valentines, Birthdays, President's Day, Boxing Day, all of em!
People should work 365 to help pay of the national debt too!

I also want that disgusting name changed from "manhole and manhole cover" to "womanhole and womanhole cover" for a period of years. Everything else get's changed to fight priorities and special interest so what not all.

Also, what happens if your religion doesn't have any "event" during this time of the year?
"Season Greetings" would be an insult.
Sorry -- fudge, F-that and any other derivative of the British word is still the same. "Even if you call a tail a leg, it's still a leg." So, that's not going to help.

People are losing it and apparently am I too

@ personally
- do buddhist prayers for the dead
- visit the Shinto shrine to celebrate New Years
- give gifts to celebrate the pagan event of Winter Solstice normally known as Christmas
- enjoy the Easter bunny -- why it's a rabbit celebrating Easter I have no idea
- participate in Day of the dead pagan rituals better known as Halloween
- enjoy idol worship normally known as President's day and various other people based holidays
- look at my neighbor's wife because she is "hot!"

I miss the times when you could call a spade a spade ...

New Year's is coming !!!

You're entitled to say it, it's just that some people won't actually identify with it. So if you're happy not pleasing everyone (which is fine) then say whatever you like!

'Season's greetings' means 'Greetings during this time of year' and isn't necessarily tied to any religious (or other) event, so it's not really an insult.

How offensive! I think you should re-word this to: 'I miss the times when you could call a tool designed primarily for the purpose of digging or removing earth a tool designed primarily for the purpose of digging or removing earth.'

That eliminates all confusion on the matter :D

This might have been better!
to call a spade a bloody shovel
Too bad the Americans ruined an almost 500 year old phrase ... ::)

Why don't we worry about offending Christians by NOT saying Merry Christmas???
No one ever thinks about that..... :)

P.S.

Or those who have Scandinavian heritage and actually like to celebrate the Yuletag ;D

As for the Christians, the Jehovah Witnesses will complain that you do!

I like the tree, I like the Coke-a-Cola Santa and hell Rudolf is still my favorite!
Merry Christmas ( ::) ugh, no strike option) Happy New Year!

Ooops, the Chinese will say that a few months later

In my view, all 'new years' are arbitrary anyway since we started counting at a random point in time and using a human-devised system of dates. But maybe I'm just too analytical/grinch-like/joykilling for my own good.
