lol I think its time for a wiki page that breaks down the structure of OpenCart

Everything text/language based is in the /language/ folder.. in this case it is on the front end so it would be in the /catalog/language/ folder

There is a slight confusion with controller/category.php and an extension/module/category.php

All sideboxes, header, footer, etc are considered "extensions". So in this case it would be the left category sidebox. So:
language/controller/english/extension/module/category.php

Get a copy of Notepad++
Then you can search the words eg Categories (in this instance) in the catalog folder, and Notepad++ will return all the files with the word "categories" in it
Makes searching easier
(if it's not Notepad++, Bruce will be along to correct me shortly. I think its Notepad++)

Also, get Firebug or Firefox Web Developers Tools for finding which style in which CSS file

You really need to have these tools. They are a "must" if you don't want to fumble in the dark forever looking for a needle in a haystack

Styles, look in templates/css/
Words, look in language

A file breaking down the structure of OpenCart is the BEST idea - I tried doing one myself but got to
tangled up in files and forgetting where I was at that I gave up in tears.

Yea, we are 1 bug away from getting 0.7.9RC4 out and I'm trying to get that done asap. As soon as we get RC4 out, and assuming there are no more bugs, we can get final out and start working on documentation, new features, and structure improvements to make things simpler and easier

Would it be better to make RC4 the Final 0.7.9 version and pick up other bugs in 0.8
Or put RC4 on the front page download
People keep downloading 0.7.8, then they come in here, they you have to spend time typing to help them, then they have to re-download RC3 and re-install  ::)
It would save the world alot of time if RC3 or 4 was the main download

Honestly the plan was RC1... RC2.... Final
Then a few really old bugs started showing up
Then some really ugly bugs started showing up (like the html showing on products)
Now one final really ugly checkout security issue needs to be resolved. That "should" be it.

I too agree that we should really change the main site to show 0.7.9 as the main version, but because its still RC, people are apprehensive to download it. But the main thing is that there are just so many places this "number" has been set.

Instead of linking all downloads to the code download page and just leaving the version number on the main homepage, instead we have a serious pain of finding all places that reference the number 0.7.8 and change to 0.7.9. I hear there are still references to 0.7.7 out there some places.

We really want this 0.7.9 out more than anyone so we can be rid of this 0.7.8 curse. I've already smack some heads about the whole url alias bug that should have been released as soon as 0.7.8 was released...  even if it was just to re-upload the package with the same file name. But instead it was left to spread like a virus. But I wasn't around back then to smack people. Now I am here.. let the smacking begin :)

But we are really close this time. Of course my instant family being born, as well as hm2k's real life have shown to cut a little time from our opencart dev time. But I think we are getting back on course and ready to finish this last bug.
