Dunno if this is the right place to post this so I apologise if it's not. My website address is http://www.virusclothing.co.uk and have now installed a blog on the subdomain http://blog.virusclothing.co.uk but my question is, is it better to have it on a subdomain like how I've done it or to move it to http://www.virusclothing.co.uk/blog ?
http://www.virusclothing.co.uk / http://www.viruselectronics.co.uk
I think it's just personal preference. Does it really matter? Normally both would be the same thing anyway; it's just a matter of how you configure them.

Though it is an interesting point, as users sometimes remember http://example.com/subdomain easier than they remember subdomain.example.com. So you should always keep users in mind, as they tend to be the ones with money!

Hi,
For the sub-domain if you can afford the time an money required to develop out each subdomain and if your main domain would be too convoluted by having too much on it, I'd say yes. If not, save yourself the heartache and extra work. Just make your site easy to navigate, use folders and you should do just fine.

I have an additional subdomain question. [I'm not very familiar w/ subdomains so please bear w/ me!]
I currently have Joomla installed on my domain. However, after a fair amount of research, I'd like to use Open Cart on my site. I've played around w/ the soft-php bridge [that I paid for] and it seems to work well enough but I'm wary of using it since it has encrypted files and others on this forum have mentioned a possible security issue w/ that.
I'm wondering whether I should look towards using a subdomain: shop.domainname.com and install Open Cart there. Can anyone give me feedback on the feasibility of that?
