Hello Guys and Gals :D

I've looked through the forums but cant find an answer that seems to work. I've managed to transfer my products categories and customers to opencart but unfortunately the password verify methods on the 2 systems differ.

Has anyone managed to get this to work ?

Thanks in advance

I've seen a topic about this some time back.
I think it is not possible and you need to generate/create a new password per customer.

I do know that there is a company that handles this, put you have to pay.

Not entirely true, you just need a simple little patch to the code (assuming it works like ZenCart, and no-one has told me otherwise). Have a look at this patch and see if it works with osCommerce as well as ZenCart accounts (ones where the password is salted and stored with its salt in the DB).

Also, I'm writing a ZenCart importer, but I've created a back-end to it that should work with almost any DB if people want to write wrappers for other systems (see here).

Cheers IIBoard, I had looked at your patch but implemented it wrong ... got it sorted eventually ,

thanks for that very handy to not have to hassle customers to change passwords

I'm glad it was useful, and it is good to know that osCommerce uses the same method as Zen Cart as I suspected it did :)
