That error nothing to do with the import/export module. From the looks of it, your language file is missing for the category. As for people helping, they do so for nothing, so if you desperately need help with this sort of thing, either take the time to learn php, or pay someone to sort your errors. JNeuhoff has spent a lot of time putting the Import/Export module together, testing, fixing bugs and for you to show no gratitude is down right rude

What??? i show gratitude, i thanked him for the module and i also stated ,sorry for the inconvenience but that i could not get that error to go away.

The 500 internal server error keeps coming up, i simply posted the error log to figure out if that had anything to do with the import/export module.

I do not disrespect anyone, i have been correcting any if all other errors on my own and and i have taken the time to learn on my own about PHP but if you do not guide or simply point in the direction to where i am supposed to look how am i supposed to figure out where to look?

Q does an amazing job of not giving but pointing in in the right direction of where to start looking and then from there i can somewhat figure out what i have to do, Yes it is a free module yea it took time to create, however since this is a forum and your clearly made a thread to post any if all errors in this particular section for this module i have followed instructions and the rules. I am not disrespecting anyone, i simply am asking like any other members in this community to help me out.

The error you have is not anything to do with the module though, that's the point. Since you want a pointer in the right direction, text_error is to do with the language files, so your problem lies there

It only does a complete export/import of all categories and products.

The pear directory goes into your Opencart server's admin directory.

ok that's what i have but i still am getting this 500 internal server error?

i do not have error logs besides a cache error which i think i know how to fix now.

Seems strange i followed the instructions carefully and i don't know if my export files are too big maybe?
i have about 600+ products i am trying to export and nothing works.

Check with your hosts that they allow files as big as yours to be submitted. out of interest, how big is the file?

Could be a server post max file size issue then, since some limit it to 2MB or less. Check with your hosting, see if they allow bigger which they should. if not, you may need to find another hosting company

Hi..

How do I use the discounts worksheet? What does the priority col heading mean?

Price col : will be the discounted price.

Quantity col: min. quantity to buy to qualify for the discount?

As there's no proper updated documentation.. its a bit of confusion here..

And what does the Specials worksheet do?

For the Product worksheet, everything is quite straight forward, except for these:

stock_status_id ?
store_ids ?
related_ids ?
tags ?
sort_order ?
subtract ? what does 'true' mean?
minimum -- I assume this is the min. quantity for order
cost -- cost of the item from supplier?

Thank you..

No more using Apsona, as they are not updated.

After trying to upload the excel file.. this is the error message.

Uploaded file is not a valid spreadsheet file or its values are not in the expected formats!

I've added additional columns to aid in my computation for the prices, and also columns for aiding in formatting the description as well as the meta keywords.

Is it that I cannot use additional columns at all?

Thank you.

Yes, that's why the validation fails.

To answer your question:
  • store_ids
a list of comma-separated values of store ids.
On a single store setup this should take the value '0'
  • related_ids
a list of comma-separated product ids pointing to related products
  • tags
used for the tag cloud, a comma-separated list of product tags
  • sort_order
the numeric sort_order value determines the order in which products are to be listed on the frontend
    default value is '0'
  • subtract
'true' = use stock level update after a successful checkout
'false' = don't update the product stock level
  • minimum
The minimum quantity for an order, default value is '1'
  • cost
The supplier's cost of the item

Thank you J. Neuhoff for your clarifications...

Guess I'll have to remove the additional columns then... Is there anyway that I can edit your code so that it will include those additional columns which are for my own reference?

In addition:
tax_class_id -- if there is taxes need to be charged at checkout, how does this link? No sales tax : 0, but with sales tax, what would be the number, and how is it linked to the textual meaning of the tax?

stock_status_id?

And for the discount worksheet : Columns I'm unsure of

Priority?
Price - discounted price?
Quantity - min. quantity to order to qualify for the discount?

What does the Specials worksheet do? I guess the following columns have similar interpretation of the discounts worksheet:

Priority?
Price -- Special discounted pricing?

Thank you...

I've edited the code to include additional columns in the past - it works really well, but you have to keep track of the changes you make.
I haven't explored this fully, but it would be great if you could code the import fields by header name, rather than the position in the array.
This would mean that you could import any number of additional fields.
