option plus disappears when update product

Hi if I change anything in the product it removes all the options I have put in for option plus. Is there a way to stop this crazy remove as I then have to enter mulitple prices and work out pre-tax for multiple sizes, colours and designs all over again. Silly to have to redo something because I changed some text.

Not sure if it is something to do with the database update removing the option plus - would love to fix this.

does anybody have any suggestions - I have stopped fixing my texts in cart so I don't have to redo the whole thing adding the options again - they shouldn't disappear on edit.
