Happy Cyber Monday everyone! Glad to finally be getting to bed and calling it a day. We had the most orders in a single day yet on Open Cart and everything worked great. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Re: Opencart v3 Cloudflare >> Firewall Rules NEEDED

So I changed this up a bit, figured I'd update this post to help anyone else. The problem was that the images for my marketing emails were getting blocked for people who were outside of my targeted countries. The images were getting a JS challenge, but because they were being loaded in emails, that ...

Re: Opencart v3 Cloudflare >> Firewall Rules NEEDED

I haven't found the need to set up much in the firewall rules, although I have fail2ban running and making API calls to Cloudflare when it finds something it doesn't like. In talking with Cloudflare, it seems I may need to set up a rule to challenge anyone using x-forward-for because I'm seeing some...

Re: Sitemap script

There's a default Sitemap extension, but it sucks. I would like recommend you my Smart Sitemap extension, which gives you full control over the sitemap and was tested at least with 100K products. Should handle 200K without any issues as well. Interesting, I've just used a crontab to export a static...

Re: Keeping photos high resolution

You really should be using webp format these days which Cloudflare will do for you if you don't want to modify Apache (and Cloudfare will do it on the CDN too, hard to argue not to have them just take care of all of it.) OC will do a very slight compression when it resizes images, my eyes are too po...

Re: Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

Yes, as mentioned earlier, with Fraud Management, this can be dealt with electronically. There are already lots of anti-fraud extension modules you could use to validate customer entries and credit cards ... What in the world are you talking about? -- I honestly feel bad for you sadly. I think you ...

Re: Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

That's because a Business don't normally contact their customers back directly You didn't read me right man, now I see... We don't contact the customer -- they call us when this problem happens. Ha, it'd be crazy to call all the missing orders we get, lol -- I thought there was something off with y...

Re: Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

Well using copy and paste to do the same thing is not a good long term solution, and it's bad customer service to make them wait on the phone. I have a lot of repeat customers and get a lot of calls on the 800 number, so it's a need for my situation. Not sure why there's any negativity about it. Tha...

Re: Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

Yeah, I can write the code to do it. Just checking if someone else already has, no need to re-invent the wheel.

Re: Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

We get a few of these a month. Then, better not to disclosed that publicly for the saigh of your store. I am not the one to argue about the ones who are successfully making sales in a secured way but this one clearly shows that you are receiving cumulative orders ending up in the missing orders as ...

Re: Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

Not sure where you're going, these aren't fraud orders. I took another one myself this morning. The customer said he put in the CVV incorrectly and it got declined. I copied all his info over, checked him out, all the card info matched, shipping to the same address on the card. Most of my customers ...

Re: Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

Sorry, let me explain this better. What happens is the customer calls us at our 800 number. They are getting the duplicate order error when trying to check out and are confused if there is already an order or not. They explain the card got declined because they had a typo or had some fraud preventio...

Duplicate Order checkout error when re-entering declined card info

I've had a few customers get an error at the checkout for "duplicate order" which seems to happen when their card is declined and they try and re-enter the card info. The order shows up in the "missing order" list in the admin area. The order hasn't been charged. -- Is there an easy way for me to pu...

Re: Estimated Delivery Extension Request

Shame the extension developer can't modify it or keep it up to date to work with Journal 3. I'm sure they could, simple changes. I just wanted something slightly different than the out of the box version. I'm use to that though since majority of what I do is drop shipped. I set up each manufacturer...

Re: How to speed up OpenCart 3

Sure, dynamic content can't be cached - but - crawlers and first time visit page loads aren't usually dynamic driven pages yet. You might want to give it a try, it's interesting. Currently doing load tests on the dev server as I type this.

Re: How to speed up OpenCart 3

So a few months and many orders into OC now, working well too! Thank you! I recently installed redis although it really didn't do much for speed. I'm guessing that MariaDB was already working well, so redis didn't have much to do. I am currently trying out Varnish. First I installed the open source ...
