I have to reinstall, any tips
Due to my CHMOD problem I am going to delete my sql DB and php tpl files from my server and start all over again.... Only a few hours work , now that I kind of know what I am doing. Any tips on saving what I have already done. But the end result must be a system allowing me to upload viewable images...

Can of worms...A different problem check your chmod settings in that folder they might only be 700 for the folder and 600 for the files, if so there is the problem. And if so it is the same problem I am having myself.... Again possibly not, but if you uploaded it from the back end it should be visib...

You can change the "banner" if we are talking about the same thing in System Settings Images in the back end.. Easy.. (if that is what you mean)

OK Host people replied, I agree with them, when I create a folder and upload a file with ftp the chmod settings are correct. So have I done something within the htaccess file or the file needed to get the fb like button working that has changed the way images are uploaded through opencart? I reckon ...

Well getting bored waiting for my host company to reply I created a directory myself within the cp panel... 771 was the chmod so why is opencart making them 700.... Are we sure its server side or maybe a problem within opencart that I have created.....

My hoster is looking into this, I might just do a full reinstall, but if it happened again after inserting all my products I would be a bit peeved, would prefer to know what is happening. New manufacturer folder is set to 0700 and files within 0600 just to be clear....
