Let's use Flyer printing as an example. The customer selects Flyers (product) and is then required to select their (options) from drop down menus, such as: Quantity, Paper, Size, Folding etc.
Currently each option variable has a price attached to it, ie. Quantity: 500 (+$120), 1000 (+$199), 10000 (+$500) / Paper: 110gsm Gloss (+$30), 180gsm Gloss (+$46) / Size: A5 (+$10), A4 (+$23) etc..... - These numbers are just an example, but as each option is selected the price is calculated and displayed below as a total.
We cannot see how a pricing pattern like this will work for us, as an example: Customer selects a quantity of 10,000 (+$500), then chooses a folding option: (+$150). What if the customer only chooses a quantity of: 1,000 (+$199) - the price to fold 1,000 flyers is going to be a lot less than $150, it might only be $50 to fold instead.
Same with business cards. If the customer chooses a quantity of: 500 (+$60) then chooses, gloss lamination: (+$20). Should the customer choose a quantity of 5,000 (+$250), the cost of matt lamination for 5,000 business cards is going to be more than $20, it could be $80 instead...
Ideally, what we need is every option variable to be $0, and once the customer has selected all the options, the website will recognize this combination and display the total price (without calculating each option separately).
Hope this makes some sort of sense, any suggestions/ help would be appreciated...
