Restyling has to be done at 2 places: ince in the CSS template and in the 'columns_left.tpl' or/and 'column_right.tpl'.

In the column_xxx search for:

Code: Select all

<div id="column_left">
This is for the background (can be moved also into the css template).

In the CSS template you have to edit these:

Code: Select all

* box
* top
* information
* middle
That should be all.

thank you very much sir!

Spent a couple hours sweeping the code, changing values and trying to figure out what divs corresponded to what divs on the actual site, learning how to change it n such, css is very general in some ways, i like it, it centralizes information needed to change and fine tune anything if you have it setup right....

how do you properly move the position of a div?

etc.

taking the menu options (home, login....... the works) and put them above your header? also in IE 6 i saw the menu actually casscaded (goes straight up and down), and i don't even know where to start with that

Well the site looks quite good.
But there is another big issue: language selector.

It seems that you have NOT installed the German language.
In OC 1.4.0.0 happened a small mistake: the developer forgot to delete the entries for the German language (use search here in this forum you will see more about this).

IF you don not want/need this additional langauge, DISable it, otherwise every visitor who clicks on the - not installed - language cannot load your site again!
Visitors have to clear all cookies from your domain before they can continue!
Otherwise the will see onyl the error message.

also, HUGE props to alreadymade, i will be buying a commerical license for your 'bare' template; it simplifies the process and made a huge difference to me, since i'm just learning CSS,

thanks for your huge contributions to the project, it looks like you have a lot of neat stuff on your site in regards to opencart(:

and thanks to the creators for making a awesome opensource cart!
