Adding filter module to brands?

I have a site under construction to sell products and the new filter module is great.
In the categories bit I am now using Ganisek mod to achieve an "and" rather than an "or" filter allowing people to narrow down the options to the small number that are appropriate for them. Meaning, if you pick "Black" and "50cm" you now only get the 50cm black ones, instead of all the black ones and all the 50cm ones.
This is the thread http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=93595
My problem now is that I would like to bring this filter that is working well in the categories bit to the brand bit.
This is the breadcrumb for where I mean. Home » Brand » Apple
Like the default I am using a carousel to display the brand logos, and clicking on one will bring up all products within that brand. What I want is to be able to add the filter module to this, allowing customers to start at brands and then filter to what they are looking for.
I am new to this and not a professional so if coding is required I will just forget about it, but if anyone can see something simple I am missing I would appreciate it. Thanks All. Maeploy.
