Hi,

I've noticed that the Google Base option is product feeds is now there in v1.4.0 - however, if I try and submit this to Google Merchant center I get:
These characters are not allowed: /,:,=,?
as the url is:
/index.php?route=feed/google_base
Am I missing something obvious here? ::)

Are you getting this error after google analyzes the feed? or when trying to add the site?

You need to add it to the scheduler
http://base.google.com/support/bin/topi ... topic=2929
the full path to the feed on your site.

Code: Select all

http://www.mysite.com/shop/index.php?route=feed/google_bas

Hi,

When I visit that page, it is empty (no products listed). And Google seems to think I can't have all the special chars in the address = / etc.

Also, if I use the Qphoria RSS.PHP script, there is also no products listed in the feed... I can only assume it's related!

Hey mate,

in the first bit where it asks for Data feed filename you can basically input ANYTHING, no joke
i typed in feed.xml

Once you've done this it will be listed as a data feed.
Now hit Create under the Upload Schedule column. This is where you use the actual feed URL.
i.e http://www.mywebsite.com/index.php?rout ... oogle_base

It's stupid and took me a while to work out but hey

FURTHER
if you havn't filled in all the WEBSITE URL boxes in Google Base > Settings with http://yoursite.com/ then it won't accept your feed!

Kind Regards,
Scott

Ah - I didn't realise, I ended up using htaccess to forward feed.xml to the php file as a precaution anyway.
