After upgrading to the latest version, I can't see product categories in the admin panel. When I edit a product I see just the category in which initially was placed but none of the rest categories.

On the front end everything is fine...

Thank you guys for your help.

Yes, I am upgrading to 1.5.5.1 as the post title suggests.

Have a look at your admin/view/template/catalog/category_list.tpl to see if there's any references to repair button. If there isn't, you missed out the full upgrade.

Does the Repair button only show after upgrade or should it show even on fresh install?

Thanks

Thanks - I worked out what was wrong (apart from the need to have a button to repair categories in the first place):

One of my extensions that uses vQmod and claims NOT to modify core files did indeed modify admin/view/template/catalog/category_list.tpl (and a few others). I won't name and shame but the author has been told!!

Thanks for your help with this perplexing issue MarketInSG.

Hi MarketInSG, robster

From your posts I've known you've successfully updated to the latest V1.551.
What's the version before your updating? As I had the trouble to update from
V1.541 to V1.551 with the error (see below).

Would you please let me know how you did a successful update? Thanks,

I know this is a long shot. Everytime I do a push from my point of sale system to update the website with my items the categories get all messed up. It's an easy fix if I click the repair button. What I'm trying to find out is the command line or code that the repair actually uses so I can just add that to my point of sale program so that my program just runs the repair at the end of a push.
