A few issues: SSL not working after update, and more

Hey all, I just have a few questions I hope someone here can help with:

- After the most recent update, the Checkout and Account pages have stopped using SSL (https) automatically, like they did previous to the update. I have enabled SSL in the store options already and the config files were already changed previously and not overwritten, is there something else I need to do?

- Is there a way to automatically Disable a product when it runs Out of Stock?

I think using .htaccess I got SSL to work, even if the java on the template is probably keeping the "lock" from appearing.

Anyone have an idea on my second question?
