Suppliers and dropshipping

I love the design of Opencart but for my necessities in dropshipping, and unfortunately, I need to use other open source commerce that I will have to use Prestashop because I need this functionalities that OpenCart don´t have by default:

• _Suppliers in Catalog, related to products

• _Make possible add extra charge for every supplier in the order (drop-shipping of different suppliers make different shipping cost because each supplier have his own shipping to client). This option is not in prestashop but easily can be created a module in it nearly don't changing the default shipping class because you only have to repeat shipping for each supplier indicating with products are shipping or dive in two orders, asking the client for his consent.

• _Easy import to make manually or for call the class in script (I know there are cheap extensions for that but I fear they will be incompatible with futures Opencart versions)

Do you have planned include this in near future versions of Opencart?

I use a code in my product code to indicate my supplier, for regular and dropship suppliers. You can easily use the SKU or location field for this info. Of course, you can use the manufacturer field for this too.

I add any extra dropshipping charges into the product prices when I add the products to my store. I use priority mail rates for all my shipping charges and have found they usually cover the dropshippers shipping charges + or - $1 or 2. I can adjust the rate charged easily by adjusting the weight of the product (I use shipping by weight) and if I find a piece ships for more than expected, I just add a pound or 2 so it goes up to the next shipping level. I also give customers free shipping on orders over $100, so do not have a problem occasionally getting a little less profit for an item to cover it's shipping costs.

There will always be a import tool I'm sure and extensions are updated every time opencart is updated.
