Google SEO at Category level

I see that the meta tag description that I enter for my category is not reflected in Google?
Running command site:yoursite.com shows how Google sees my site and the product descriptions are correct but at category level they are not. They say things like this:

10+ items – cart empty 0 item(s) - £0.00. Your shopping cart is empty!

Site is http://www.emmamartin.com/emma-martin-bracelets

Many thanks for your help

Google does not always pick up meta descriptions as well as other search engines do. You really should add at least a short category description so there is text on your page as well as google always puts more weight to actual page content then meta information.

Thanks. I have already filled in the Meta Tag Description for all my categories. This is what I would expect to see in Google but this is not the case??

Google no longer gives a lot of weight to meta anything pulling text off your pages wherever it can as far as I understand it. You still need meta tags and descriptions for other search platforms, but google looks first to text on pages and then to meta I believe. Not sure if they 100% ignore metas but if you want to rank better, always consider what text you have on your pages and gear it as much as you can towards keywords you want to rank for/see in the search results. Plus a good description on your category pages itself helps your customers, so it's a win/win imo.
