I have tried using the search option but but the key words i need to use are not allowed as there are too many of them.
What I am looking for is shipping based on products. i.e if i sell a set of tyres (model) they will be £4 to post. if I sell a starter box and battery that will be £10 shipping. I dont want weight based shipping.
Any suggestions appreciated.

looks good.Johnathan wrote:Take a look at Product-Based Shipping.
Can this show shipping prices when the customers looks at the product or only when they use checkout??
Only during checkout. However, if you wanted a shipping estimator on your product page you could use the Shipping Estimate Module.
I think thats what I meant to ask. lol If I use the sipping estimator does it use the rules created by the product shipping module so the customer gets an accurate view of what it will cost to ship as they add products.Johnathan wrote:Only during checkout. For example I can ship 4 pairs of model tyres for the same price as 1 but if it reaches 5 it increases the cost.
Well I purchased it (product based shipping) but I am no further forward its so difficult to get your head round.
Are there any more support docs that explain what the examples actually do.
I.e this is what the docs say
Sort Order: 1
Multi Rate Calculation: Sum
Compare Against: Applicable items
Comparison: ANY
Products: Product A
Rate Type: (any)
Cost Brackets:
- From: 0, To: 99999, Charge: 3.00
and it says it does this
Suppose you want to charge a $3.00 flat rate for Product A, a $1.00 per item rate for Product B, and 5% of the entire cart's taxed sub-total for everything else, then sum the charges together for a single final cost. You want the minimum final cost to be at least $3.00. Then you would enter:
But I dont want to do that example or the other two and it does not expand on what each bullet point actually does...
To start with I would like to have each product with a flat rate (different prices for groups of products.)
Within those groups I would like to do combined postage that is logarithmic not linear.
Then I need to ensure a high shipping cost product and a low shipping cost product charges the higher price.
if I can see examples that will achieve that I might be able to figure it out more. I dont suppose you have any video tutorials do you??

Hi Andy -- no video tutorials, unfortunately, since for the most part the included examples seem good enough for most shipping set-ups. Maybe yours is particularly complex, though.
Logarithmic combined shipping costs? I haven't heard of anyone using something like that before. Can you send me a detailed example of your shipping set-up at www.getclearthinking.com/contact (or the e-mail address listed in the extension files) to discuss this further?

hiya
Its actually me not being able to understand the examples and what it is saying in the help files.
I dont think my shipping will be complex when I show you an example but having been in Tech support for two years everything I dealt with then seemed simple to me lol Its a case of familiarity breeds contempt in that everything is simple if you understand it at the start lol
yes I will send email now thanks
Does anyone else know how to set up this module I am just sitting twiddling my thumbs as I dont understand it and the documentation does not explain things clearly enough for me to follow how to set it up. Any suggestions appreciated.
Many apologies to Johnathan Shawukracer wrote:Does anyone else know how to set up this module I am just sitting twiddling my thumbs as I dont understand it and the documentation does not explain things clearly enough for me to follow how to set it up. Any suggestions appreciated.

Johnathan had actually sent me details on what I need to do but bloody Gmail stuck it in my spam box despite me setting up a filter to catch all the mail relating to product shipping.
I think I am just getting too old now
