Autofill SKU

We require code where SKU field would be autofilled depending on the category. It would take first 3 or 4 characters of the category it belongs to and increment the value. Eg: category name SCIENCE - SKU for product...SCIE101, SCIE102 and so forth. Please Help

You can use Product_id that is already autonumeric.
