Database Host: = ip-address of dbserver (most likely localhost or 127.0.0.1).
*User: = username to connect to your MySQL server
Password: = password for the user above
*Database Name: = name of your MySQL database
Database Prefix = you can leave empty

This may be obvious to some, but you must create your MySQL database before you do the OpenCart install. Once the new empty database is created you enter the information mentioned by the previous poster. The OpenCart installer takes care of populating the database with the tables/data. The information it is requesting is needed in order for OpenCart to communicate with the database both during and after the install.

Usually you can create a new database through your website control panel (such as Cpanel, Plesk, and so on).

Ok I got it. The data base host was giving me issues I had to get the right IP address.

Now I got to step 4, I deleted the install file, but when I go to the admin page I get this.

Error: Could not load template /home/content/70/4860170/html/admin/view/template/common/login.tpl!

I did change my user name in the bottom portion of step 3 from "admin" to "The Alchemist" is that going to affect anything from here?

Why not try a default install, use admin as main user and add your own name later.

Is the file it says it's missing realy missing?

I figured it out. I was missing some random parts of the admin file view up load part.

I must of messed up on the upload somewhere.
