I have installed opencart, all worked well, went to the url, go through the install part, get to the SQL part of host etc, now I am confused. Can some one explain to me this part and the questions it ask, what they mean.

When you sign up for a website through a webhost, you get your own "control panel"..... typically "cPanel"
You have to log into cpanel and create a database. Then create a user for that database and give that user full permissions.
Then enter all the db details into the install fields so it knows where to install the cart data.

You install OpenCart in your public_html directory on your host. The database will be on your host's servers. Enter your database host as "localhost", then enter the name of the user you created (with the corresponding password) and the name of the database you created.webx wrote:Hi,
So when you say tell it all the details of the DB, do you mean the url of where it is located, or am i spose to install opencart in my server root directory.
