In the United States, Tax only has to be charged to orders shipping within your local state. The problem I am having is this I have set up two geo zones per shipping method (my state and all the others).

So what I need to know is what needs to be modified so when a user enters an address within the local geo_zone the calculation adds tax to the entire order.

There is already a field named tax but it is only adding tax to the shipping ???

Any help is always appreciated :)

I have posted a howto document in the contributions area. It contains the magic you need :)
http://www.opencart.com/contribution/in ... tion_id/31
The download is a zip file containing an MS Word document which you just have to rename to have a .zip extension.

Daniel, is it possible to fix the download file name so that it downloads correctly as a .zip?

You must follow the instructions carefully.

Tax must be off in the store admin.
All items must require shipping.
The tax rate must apply to the correct geo zone.

i figured it out...

i set all of the products to shipping required...

and had to set my geo_code to all zones for my shipping module... and that solved it...

Everything was fine until:
"Click on the notepad for Top Administrator and scroll the Access: and Modify lists to find shipping_subtotal
You need to press Shift and click on that entry in each place so that everything is highlighted then click save."

I see no shipping_subtotal in the Access & Modify lists. Please advise! : (
