I just upgraded to 1.3.4 and out of a sudden the template is no longer loading correctly.

There is a slash missing in the URL, which is causing the issue. I have no idea where this problem is coming.

I experience the issue both with my custom template and the default template.

The URL to the store is : http://www.mahabarsom.com/shop/

Thanks for any help!

Update: I tried doing a clean install, both files and DB, and the issue persists. I even tried to manually modify the footer controller to add the slash, but that does not change anything.

Meanwhile, the admin section is fully functioning, but I guess the section has its own MVC

the slash and the word "template" is missing. Looks like you are using a 1.3.2 footer controller file with 1.3.4. Did you upgrade and maybe miss a file?

I did a clean install and then uploaded my customized template. The puzzling thing is that event the default 1.3.4 template does not work.

I will compare the controller file which is online with the one from the 1.3.4 install package and see whether and how they are different.

Confirmed: I added a hack to the footer controller, which caused the error. And embarrassingly enough I forgot about it :-[

Now I only need to tweak my custom template to fit with the 1.3.4 !!!

I just realized that the entire template structure has been changed - this is terrible. This is my first install of opencart, and I am just hoping that this will NOT be the case with each upgrade...

LOL .. have you read any of hte post in the forum for the past 2 weeks?
Start fresh with a new install of 1.3.4

Upgrading is a waste of time and you will inevitably end up installing new anyway.

NO kidding!!! Clean install is the way to go!

I was silly enough to read the upgrade instructions in the ZIP file, where there is no mention of the changes to the template files ;)

Maybe the upgrade info should be a bit more relevant...
