PHP help - How to pull sub-category name into Product page

I know I may be pushing my luck with a second request for help but I would like to include the sub-category name within the product details area of the product template.

I have tried by calling that portion of the breadcrumb but without success.

At top category level I have: Floor Tiles
As sub categories I have: Marble, Natural Stone, Porcelain etc.

So my requirement is to have e.g. Marble, called into the product details on the product.tpl

My php skills are not good (but improving thanks to you guys) so again, any help will be gratefully received.

I've tried your way too.
It is working when the url contains http://site.com/category/subcategory/productname
If the product is accessed from url: http://site.com/productname, the subcategory will not show up in the product tpl.

Any one have better idea doing it?
