Hello,

I'm still building up a opencart webshop (using 1.5.3.1) and when i order a product i'm not recieving an confirmation email in my email inbox (hotmail) i do only recieve confirmation email on my webshop email that a customer ordered products.

how can i setup that customers do also recieve email?

Hotmail is not built in the OpenCart mail constructor. It would require SSL with authentication to send an email to Hotmail server. I would suggest to use Gmail instead which the results were proved to be successful.

But the main issue is, many customers who places orders in our shop are using hotmail, and so when they order now (when shop is online) they wont get any confirmation email (which they need to print it for picking up the order).

so any solution maby to make it work with hotmail also?

i have a short deadline to get the shop running

At the present time, until being implemented, would be to restrict Hotmail users to register on your store and set a message to use a common email created by their provider rather than using an email address behind SSL.

Ok then we will announce on the shop that customers need to use a diffirent email ie gmail or provider mail for registering.

any idea when hotmail will be supported in opencart?

There are no official announcement on this event, yet; so far.

I wouldn't expect it any time soon..........

Atleast i hope the developers of OpenCart will fix hotmail support.

as other shopping carts (which are less as good as OpenCart) do support hotmail.

Hot mail is trash. In fact I don't have any clue why people still use it. No offense to you or anyone that still offers it or uses it. It's full of viruses...bugs...nasty little critters that infest, injest, and digest. I wouldn't go near Hot Mail with a 10 foot pole but in the end it's not up to me
