hi guys,
ive recently setup my shop and have used google adwords, seo and facebook to promote the website.
My prices are competitive, they arent too cheap or too expensive (ive done plenty of research and checked plenty of competitors) and ive been getting lots of hits on the site. Ive not sold a thing! my competitors are doing a roaring trade, at first i thought the site wasnt working so i checked it myself by doing test purchases from other computers... a couple of issues needed ironing out but nothing to stop people buying. I also took a risk and ramped my google adwords upto £30 for a day... i got nearly 200 hits but no sales???
Also ive had several people sign up without buying anything! the only thing i can think of thats causing an issue is paypal (i dont use paypal direct, just standard). When the customer is directed to the paypal page too much emphasis is payed on getting existing memebers to sign in, the link for non-members is far too small. I reckon this is whats stopping them from finishing their transaction.
Is there anyway i could get the following (or something similar) added to the final page before the customer gets redirected to paypal:
*** Paypal account not required ***
On checking out you will be redirected to the paypal payment site.
If you do not have a paypal account, dont worry! simply click the link on the left of the login box labelled "dont have a paypal account?"
You can then pay by any credit or dedbit card without having to sign up!
my website is http://www.clubberclobber.co.uk
let me know if this can be done, or, if you think the site is crap and im doing it all wrong! (i dont mind!!)
many thanks
az

Eh.. most hits are like search engines, spiders, and you checking the site out
I highly doubt paypal has ever scared anyone away. Unless you have a lot of no status orders from people stopping after they get to paypal. But your clientele would certainly be in the tweens - 20s and would certainly be in the "internet era" and know how paypal works.
And considering you've just created the domain 3 weeks ago, its just too early. Give it some time.
