Hi, can someone verify that this is a client side issue?
[Fri May 25 14:32:06 2012] [error] [client 98.237.223.182] File does not exist: /...../christianarea.org/501.shtml, referer: http://www.bing.com/search?q=christiana ... &x=87&y=15
Happens often but I think its the same user.
This is the HTTP status code it's referencing
http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E501.html
Hard to say for sure what exactly is causing it, but it's unlikely you'll be able to fix it to be honest

"unlikly you'll be able to fix it to be honest" meaning its the client issue? I am hosting on Inmotion which I am sure is up to date
The error appears here:
christianarea.org/501,shtml
which redirects to
http://www.christianarea.com (the org was comnined into the com site.)
Any insight would be great.

From what I can tell (I've not seen that 501 error before on any hosting I've had) someones requested data in an unusual format and the server's basically giving up because it doesn't know what they want. However, the error in that log suggests its tried to find a file called 501.shtml and couldn't. so simply creating that file in the right folder *might* fix that error at least, but won't fix the weird request the client is making
