Multilingual - disable multilingual descriptions

Hi all,

I have a friend managing a trilingual opencart shop which I installed for him...
His shop is located in Belgium, hence the need for trilingual but there is no need to have the product_decription in three languages !
He has now already loaded almost 11000 articles and the trilingual product_description table is obiously getting huge... And there is no difference between the languages...

I know this sounds the reverse way when looking at multilingual shops but can anyone think of a way to set-up the site in multiple languages but without this option for products/description ?

woops seems like I asked a tough one... nobody any ideas ??
The shop is operational but is now in a state which does not allow full backups to be taken anymore... the backups of the product_description table are corrupt... I can not load them back into the site...
thanks for any hint... If none I don't know where to go from here, this situation is not healthy...
