i want to post this as it might help anyone because this was about the best i could get it,

im using, RM 1st class and special delivery £500 for uk

international signed and airsure for anywhere else BUT the international signed with be airmail in my case as airmail keeps interfering with uk rates.

1st i set the uk Compensation Rates: to £1000000000000000000000000( pretty much unlimited this way if it goes over £46 the buyer still has that option, you can set it lower etc though. ):£46
so 1000000000000000000000000:46

special delivery £500 Compensation Rates: 100000000000000000000000000:500

then i copied all the airmail rates e.g prices and weights over to international signed starting with the eu in the 1st box and rest of the world in the second box

and then done the same with the compensation rates,

so now i get 1st class and special delivery for the uk at the correct weight, price and compensation and the same with rest of the world, only thing is it says international instead of airmail ( obviously) but as i have copied the rates from airmail to international it gives the correct prices etc, trouble is some customers may think they getting signed for parcels and there not but atleast they will be paying the correct price.

its a shame because all open cart really needs to do is duplicate international signed but change the rates to the airmail rates and change the name to airmail!, if im not clear

add another box, name it airmail, use the zones etc from international s and copy the prices from the 1st airmail box into the new airmail box.

, if i knew how to do it i would MYABE SOMEONE OUT THERE CAN, IM SURE WE WOULD CHIP IN TO PAY FOR IT OR IF NOT I WILL PAY.
