Personalisation Entry details on products Page

We are a small successful business selling personalised gifts.

We are moving to OpenCart it looks fantastic for our needs!! We can manage our business better using this system. It will be successful. We will be donating once it is up and running.

However we need to be able to ask our customers to do two things:-

1) To enable the customer to input the child's name, their date of birth etc in order for us to manufacture our products. It needs to be free format, so that we can add additional fields and label them as we wish.

For example:-

The personalisation details for our chairs ask for:-

The Childs name... To be engraved on the chair back
The Occasion and Date.. ie Christened on to be engraved under the design
The Design..There is a selection, so we can use the standard options drop down for this.
The love message under the seat...ie love from grandma and grandad.

2) We also want to be able to allow the customer to upload a picture of their choice from their pc, that we then engrave into the product using a laser engraving processs. It needs to be a very simple brows and upload option on the products page.


Please let me know if anybody has any ideas on this. Or if indeed somebody is already on the case. Have looked through the forums and cannot find an answer.

I know for sure that it could be important to Open Cart, to make sure this kind of option is available. The personalisation business market is massive!
