How do you put in custom boxes?

Hi, I'm just wondering is it possible to put in custom boxes with custom titles and custom content? If it is, what is the easiest way? Do I have to install a module? How do Install downloaded modules?
lol loads of questions, and yes I have tried youtubing and google searching buy there is NOTHING haha
