I've just finished upgrading from 1.3.0 to 1.3.2... Everything seems ok.
Then I added Brazilian Portuguese as a second language with English still as the default.
If I enter text into the front page welcome message for the second language, it looks like it saves it, but when you come back to the entry screen the contents are gone.
Second language for a product works/saves ok
Thanks, John

Check the setting in your Admin>Settings>Server
Make sure log errors is set to yes and that there is a filename there.(eg. errors.txt)

I am getting the same thing there, setting Display Errors & Log Errors to "yes" with an error filename will not save. Going to another menu option and then coming back results in the two options showing "no"
No other options in the settings menu can be changed either.
I used hcamelion's instructions in upgrading, everything else so far works ok, just nothing can be changed in the settings menu

Ok, If I delete the second language, settings come back to normal. So I went and turned error reporting on and added the language back again. It displayed a screen error on trying to save and stopped, reporting that the image name must be more than 3 characters. (was entered as br.png) along with the error message it chopped the file name back to "b". I reentered it and it saved the second time with no error. The error log also shows nothing. However, all "settings" menu can be changed and saved now.
thanks, in the end I didn't really trust the upgrade so I've done a new fresh install of 1.3.2 and am recustomising it.. everything seems ok now except this line in the error log :
2009-08-16 7:19:57 - PHP Notice: Undefined variable: action in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/admin/view/template/tool/error_log.tpl on line 9

Hello,
I have added a second language and currency to version OpenCart 1.3.2 and made the localisation to Bulgaria.
However the default language stays English for some reason and the settings/local does not save when I give Bulgarian as admin and catalog language. The currency stays GBP as default also.
I have error in the log: PHP Notice: Undefined variable: action in admin/view/template/tool/error_log.tpl on line 9
The error above is might have something in common with the cart not being able to remember and switch to the second language and currency as default.
Please help to resolve this issue since it is really important from point of view of search engine indexing which is done on the default language!

The problem is solved.
It was and still is a known bug which is not resolved yet - when a second language is introduced a required field
"Welcome Message" for the second language appears. If not populated the system does not save the settings for the language and currency. the bug is that it does not give error message stating that required field is not populated.
Such message would be useful.

this is not the problem. the problem is if you add a second language you need to add a welcome message in that second language before the settings can be saved.
on the 1.3.2 release ( left oput the error message from showing tand then added it and updated the 1.3.2 release. if no error is beging show rerdownload 1.3.2 and replace the settings page.
