Hello anybody,

I tried installing at step 1. got the error message as above
  • PHP Settings Current Settings Required Settings Status
    PHP Version: 5.2.8 5.0+ Good
    Register Globals: Off Off Good
    Magic Quotes GPC: On Off Bad :-\
    File Uploads: On On Good
    Session Auto Start: Off Off Good
where do I check for magic quotes?

Hello, you need to set permissions for config.php to 755 or 777.
and you need to contact your host about the Magic Quotes GPC.

thnx jamiel...I have config php to 777 but the magic quote gpc? I have access my server thro cpanel but I cannot find where its location. Is it in cpanel?

Create a database and assign a username.
During installation of OpenCart:
For database name for example put: mycpanelloginname_databsename
For database username put: mycpanelloginname_databaseusername
For database username password put: mypassword

Also to fchange magic quotes gpc setting you need to contact host.

To create database goto cPanel then goto database wizard and follow the prompts.

every step has error step 3....on completion of installing and delete directory install I come to this Error: Could not load language english! after cliking online shop button. How to rectify it?

You need to contact host and get themc to change Magic Quotes GPC setting.

You can't change it yourself.
