This was working for me in 1.5.1 - really wish that this had been highlighted in release notes!

Careful what you say, when I complained about the same thing I was chastised! Unfortunately, it's a fact of life around here that things will change without documentation.

Ahh but if you take out a "feature" surely it's good practice to just note that??? Would stop a lot of people reporting things as bugs which are really just feature changes - I logged this as a bug before I stumbled across this thread,turns out I was searching on the wrong terms - I'm sure that's a common problem for people, especially those who don't speak English as a first language.
Anyway, the vqMod wasn't working for me but eventually found out that this has been updated too and now it is working.
