ERROR text that shows on my desktop: Your request timed out. Please retry the request.
My version is v.1.5.1.3
I have built categories now for some time and added around 26 categories, and under them sub categories around 53 in which I have added products with images and text and I am now just around 10% of the total I need to add, so there will be much more to load in the opencart.
In the beginning I had no problem with the software, it accepted me to add new categories, products and images and it saved it quickly after I clicked the SAVE button.
But now for some time back, maybe a 2-3 days I began to have a problem after I clicked SAVE after added a new category or a new product. This ERROR text began to come up: Your request timed out. Please retry the request
My PC screen still had the browser open, and this text showed up on a blank page so I could right click and REFRESH and I could come back to opencart software, still open and running. But ofcourse I was not sure, "had it saved my products or not"?
Sometimes it had saved my work, and sometimes I had to add it again. This error happened when I was in a mode of adding category, or adding a new product, and after 2 minute when I was ready, I clicked SAVE button, and the ERROR text as mentioned used to come up.
But I got a really good support and help for this issue since I am hosting with godaddy. This message below is what godaddy support informed:
On your hosting account, php.ini is the configuration file for PHP. It controls the different functions of PHP and changes your account's PHP settings.
Open Cart is built in PHP files. The application made lots of changes to the PHP.INI file, but they didn't take effect. You are running PHP 5.2, which needs a PHP5.INI file. All we had to do was add the "5" in the PHP.INI file name. Now Open Cart's PHP settings will take effect, improving your site's performance.
So by renaming the file helped in this case
