seems simple and not an issue..  turn on GD or add it to your server if you don't have it...

in php.ini you have to find line with gd dll (could look like this: ;extension=php_gd2.dll) - and remove semicolon in front. Then save the file and restart web server (apache in most cases).
If you don't have gd dll installed then you have to find and copy it to php extensions directory.

If you can't get to the shared php.ini - Some hosting companies (like mine) let you put your own copy of php.ini in the base folder for the app with the extra / override commands in.

try making a php.ini (or a php5.ini) that just contains the line

extension=php_gd2.dll

may work for your host.. may not !
