I edited the code, so that when you click on the add to cart button, it goes directly to the shopping cart. It works for mozilla firefox, but for the product list page on internet explorer it add a product to cart but reloads the product list page.

Category pages, Modules such as featured, latest etc all use the addtocart function in the common.js file
The product page however uses it's own addtocart javascript which you can find at the bootom of the product.tpl file.

I fixed my problem by:
Go to ADMIN>EXTENSIONS>MODULES and rgot in for example LATEST (EDIT)
Make sure you copy the settings to paper and REMOVE it and SAVE
Now UNINSTALL the LATEST Module and Reinstall it.
Click EDIT and ADD (enter all the info from step2) SAVE
Now its Working
I had problem with LATEST Products section, if you have problem with any other try to uninstall and reinstall that part of the addon/option/module.

I found another problem.
The above step fixed the problem for Firefox but not IE
I had to remove WWW from config.php on all the links since my domain is without WWW.mydomain.com its http://mydomain.com.
So now its working fine.
I hope this will make your day easier, I lost two hours looking for it with winmerge. OpenCart is great but needs many twinks here and there like any free shopping cart.

I am running Opencart Version 1.5.1 and my ADD TO CART buttons will not work on any page. Customers cannot add any products to the shopping cart. The button gets clicked to add and nothing happens. My site URL is http://stampsdoorparts.com
Any Ideas? Please help.

I have the same issue?
There might be conflict in information between your .htaccess file and config.php
Just make sure that in both these files site is addressed using www or NON-www. I hope this solves this problem, I had exactly the same problem and above solution fixed it.

Hello,
I'm having the same issue, "add to cart" button doesn't work.
We have install this in several servers with different configurations and still doesn't work.
I think this is a BUG with opencart.
How do you report bugs with opencart??
We just try: http://www.rasahydroponics.com/ and he says that he solved the issue but it doesn't work at all, is he aware that his site doesn't work?

I have this currently with IE 10.0.9200 and IE 11.0.9600 windows 7 and windows 8.
No other browsers have the problem. (Chrome, Safari, Maxthon, Firefox)
Add Cart buttons function normally with IE until the menus are used then Add Cart doesn't work on either product page or list of products. HOME button seems to reset this and it functions normally until menu access.
This site does reference both with http://www.ruggednotebooks.com and with http://ruggednotebooks.com. One post did link these issues via htaccess and config files. Is this unanimous? What is the link?
There are errors being thrown an invalid method or property on datetimepicker each time Cart becomes disabled.
Site referenced above if anybody wants a crack at it.
