SSL Cert

Hey,

I am making an eccomerce website using OpenCart and want to secure the payment stages with a SSSL certificate..

Now is there anywhere i can get some more information about how i can do this. I have never done it before..

Can someone explain how SSL benefits and secures a website? And also where i can it from and how to set up etc..

When you buy the SSL they usually help get it set up for your domain. Your webhost can also help.
Once it is working, you can simply edit the opencart config.php file and enter the https://www.yoursite.com in the HTTPS area.

Hey,

I have purchased an SSL certificate and want to use it on my website. It has been set up so now i need to know how i can upload onto the server etc..

Now i have received the SSL through email as a scrambled paragraph. Is there some step by step info that i could follow in setting it up with the opencart payment areas>

I bought mine through my hosting company, which got it from another place-- anyway, since I got it through my hosting company they installed it for me.

If you go on your user control panel for your server, you'll prolly find something about SSL.... and can probably go forward to install your certificate through that control panel, if you can upload it.

I don't actually know the procedure; if anything I'd call your hosting company for help and have them walk you through it so you get it installed correctly.

In order to get it running on OC you need to edit the config.php files under the root and /admin/ folders.
