pricing display options

I'm doing a site for a carpet retailer. The prices for the carpet are stored in Sq meters, it has to be done like this as they are synchronised form the company SAGE database which has the prices in this format. The problem is lots of the customers request in linear meters. eg. a roll of carpet is 4 m wide. The customer wants to fit in an area that is 3.5 m wide by 7 meters long. In this case they would just request 7 meters of carpet. The company operatives would do a quick calculation and put it into the SAGE ordering system as 24.5 sqm.

Ideally I would like to be able to have ability for the user to display prices in both linear meters and square meters.
they should then be able to select their quantity by either of these attributes.

The order would then have to be processed with the sqm calculation (for the sage integration) and the linear meter size appended to a database field to that i can get our sync software to send that to a SAGE order comment field.

I appreciate that this is quite a specific set of requirements. Is there any chance that Open Cart could be configured to do this? Is there a module that might help? Any freelancers that can do this coding if not?

While selling products by sqm may be ideal, you would also require a shipping Company that returns the rates based on sqm to deliver carpets or similar products so for the customers to know how much it's going to cost them amongst the total.
