how can customer use rewards points

Hi,
i am using version v1.5.1.3
we can give reward points to each item in the opencart system, so once the customer accumulates reward points how can he redeem his accumulated reward points, please recommend as when the customer adds an item that has lesser number of rewards points to buy than what a customer has in his account it should show the option buy using reward points which it is not showing please recommend

Hi Ltoso,
A customer can check his reward points under his account. Amount of reward point needed to buy an item is shown under the product price. After the product is added to cart, customer can click 'Use Reward Points (Available xxxx)' under the cart window, and key in the points they want to use. Take a look at this screenshot:

but the problem is that i am not able to see that option inspite of the user having sufficient reward points in his account, is there a place in the settings where this thing is enabled or disabled so it could be disabled there.
please recommend

Yes. Please check under Extensions > Order Totals in your admin, make sure Reward Points is enabled.

Make sure you have signed in as a customers that has reward points in their account. Also make sure the product is set with Points needed to buy this item. Are you using any extension or custom theme?

Yes, i am loggin in as a customer with enough reward points to buy the product item and the product item is set with points needed to buy the item, i am using the default extensions and default theme on opencart is there any thing else i should check

ok,
now i understand, you get the option to pay using reqard points only when you click the particular shopping cart link just above the top horizontal bar next to the my account link, but if you use the top dynamic shopping cart then you will not get the option to pay by reward points, that means this is a bug.

I've got a question to add on to this - where can you change how many points a customer may use towards an item? Is there a way to turn Rewards Points into a discount of sorts? For example, can they use 10 rewards points to get $1 off of an item?
Are there any extensions that can accomplish this? Is this the default functionality? Thanks for the help!
